At Valley Invicta Primary School at East Borough (VIPS at East Borough), we believe passionately about providing a rich programme of opportunities that offer our pupils diverse and exciting experiences to develop into well-rounded individuals, enthused about the world they live.
We want to develop their cultural capital, so in their time at VIPS at East Borough, the pupils will visit art galleries, national theatres, museums etc as well as having the opportunity to get involved in theatre and music workshops in the school. Authors also regularly visit the school to share their work and inspire the children to become writers themselves.
We offer a wide range of sporting opportunities through our PE curriculum and the variety of clubs available. We actively encourage pupils to develop individual and team skills together with a love of competitive sports and games. As part of our opportunities programme, we participate in several sporting competitions and are very proud of our school’s sporting achievements.
The school has a school council which is an opportunity for pupils to develop good communication skills, form opinions and influence decision making.
In Year 6, we expect pupils to become good role models and take on leadership roles around the school, such as prefects, sports leaders and peer mediators.
Most importantly, we want our pupils to have a wealth of opportunities and to enjoy their education.
